This is how I died.
Like gods, we hailed from far corners of the sky.
In that old wooden box I had made my way home.
Never planned to stay long, my life was to roam.
Very soon we knew that things weren’t quite the same,
Our worst nightmares in disguise at first seeming so tame.
Those people didn’t know that they harbored the disease,
Were housing disaster that would cause all to bleed.
Loved ones we all thought had been lost forever
Rushed in to save us, their chains were untethered.
Reunited at last, we could flee and be saved
But I returned to his side, my choice had been made.
We banished the monsters, but then fate banished
Greetings, my friend, here's wishing you well.
But I know that you'll rot in the bowels of hell.
Sure, we're both human, but I'm simply superior.
Peel back the flesh, you've a putrid interior.
I deserve more than you. It's nature, you see.
You should know that they don't come much better than me.
But we're civilized folk, now, there's no need to swear.
And please do not pull on my nicely groomed hair.
Let's both be respectful, and pretend that my judgement
Is far less restricting than prison confinement.

At dusk when the air is blue,
And everything's a darker hue.
Muted words hang in midair,
Glowing eyes might stop and stare.
A no-man's-land; no moon nor sun,
This is the world chosen by some.
While others sleep in stuffy rooms
Or put away their dusty brooms.
But, ah! Alas, this world is fine!
Few silver hours so divine.
It slips away as nature croons
Into place a silver moon.
And then steps in its sister Night,
